1. Introduction

Welcome to Skylark ("App"), a mobile application developed to facilitate internal logistics, shipment tracking, delivery runsheet (DRS) management, pickup request sheet (PRS) execution, and related operations for our company operations.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our users (such as delivery agents, drivers, employees, and authorized personnel). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

User Account Policy: The Skylark App is a private corporate utility designed strictly for registered employees, delivery agents, drivers, and business partners. Public registration is not available. User accounts are created and managed by the system administrators of Skylark Express (Delhi) Pvt Ltd. To log in and use the services, you must obtain your assigned credentials from your company administrator.

By downloading, installing, logging in, or using the Skylark App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Collection & Use

To provide you with our logistics management services, authenticate authorized personnel, and maintain secure records, we may collect several types of information:

Required Account Credentials
We collect authentication details such as your Username, Password, User ID, Company Code, and Branch/Location Code. These are utilized to grant you access to authorized sections of the application.
Required Network & Connectivity
We check your device's network connectivity status (using packages like Connectivity Plus) to determine if you can download updates or sync logs/uploads with our servers.
Sensitive Camera & Media Files
We collect images that you capture or choose to upload. These include Proof of Delivery (POD) documents and expense receipts/bills.
Device Device Information
To ensure application security and manage active sessions, the app may read basic device properties (such as OS version, device manufacturer, and model).

Note: We do not track your active GPS location in the background or foreground using device location permissions. All location references in our code (such as "baseLocationCode" or "branchCode") refer to business/warehouse codes selected during the login or operational flows, rather than real-time GPS tracking coordinates.

3. Camera & Storage Access Details

The Skylark App explicitly requests permissions to access your device's camera and photo gallery. This section highlights why and when these permissions are triggered:

  • Proof of Delivery (POD) Upload: Delivery agents capture or upload photos of delivery receipts, signed documents, or parcels at the time of delivery to serve as official Proof of Delivery (POD) for customer shipments.
  • Expense Logging: Employees logging expenses (such as fuel bills, tolls, maintenance costs) capture or upload receipts/invoices as proof of expense to verify reimbursement claims.

These actions are user-initiated. The App does not capture photos or access your camera in the background without your explicit action and permission.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes essential to logistics operations, including:

  • User Authentication: Authenticating and verifying user accounts before displaying sensitive company shipment, manifest, and pickup details.
  • Logistics Operations: Maintaining records of Delivery Run Sheets (DRS) and Pickup Request Sheets (PRS), capturing status updates, and updating active stock inventory at various company hubs.
  • Delivery Documentation: Hosting and associating uploaded Proof of Delivery (POD) files with respective docket/consignment tracking numbers.
  • Expense Tracking: Managing corporate employee expense requests and maintaining invoices.
  • Network Optimization: Checking internet status to manage offline states and retry failed upload requests.

5. Data Security

We value your trust in providing us your information. We take commercial and enterprise-grade security measures to safeguard data both in transit and at rest:

  • Local Encryption & Storage: Session tokens and user configurations are saved securely on the device using shared preference models.
  • Network Security: All data exchanged between the mobile application and the backend API server is handled through network calls (HTTPS/secure connections) to prevent intercepting.
  • Authorized Access: Access to backend data is locked behind API tokens, and users are only allowed access based on roles assigned by the system administrator.

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

The Skylark App is primarily a private enterprise utility. We do not sell, trade, rent, or distribute user data to third-party advertising networks or external commercial companies.

Data may be shared under the following conditions:

  • Service Providers: We may use third-party tools to compile basic crash logs or check connection stability (e.g., standard Google Play Services on Android or App Store services on iOS).
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to respond to valid legal processes.

7. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

We retain user account data, operational records (DRS, PRS logs), and uploaded media (POD images, expense bills) for as long as necessary to fulfill the logistics, tracking, auditing, and corporate bookkeeping obligations of the company.

Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your account or request the removal of your personal credentials from the system, please contact your company system administrator or email us at the support address below. Upon verification of your identity and authorization, we will process your deletion request according to corporate storage policies.
